Prasun Chatterjee's feature film, Dostojee, won big at the Malaysian Golden Globe Awards 2022. Prasun is thrilled with the win and amused at his little stars response to the gala event honour. Earlier, he had posted on social media, 'Last night, Asik and Arif won the Malaysia Golden Global Award for the BEST ACTOR for their performance in DOSTOJEE. Cheers, TEAM! When contacted after his return to India, Prasun told us, “I’m super happy for my boys! I would love to thank the MGGA, Joanne Goh and all the honourable jurors. The film has already travelled to 18 countries and won seven international awards, including the prestigious CIFEJ Prize, supported by UNESCO. We are planning to release the film in theatres this winter.”
At the awards, the film got six nominations. Best Film, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Cinematographer, Best Actor a nd the Best Supporting Actress. "We are honoured to have 'Two Friends (Dostojee)' in the Malaysia Golden Global Awards 2022, and it is the only film from India nominated this year. We are blown away by the performances of the two young actors in Prasun Chatterjee's debut film, and the jury board has decided to award the Malaysia Golden Global Award for Best Actor to Asik Shaikh and Arif Shaikh for their work in the film," shared Joanne Goh, MGGA chairperson.
